Short rib bones, pig blood, chicory, cheesecloth & charcoal dust - 2023
This one took a very long time to dry, mostly because of the season we are in. I feel like nothing ever fully dries outside during fall and winter. The bones ended up sticking to the canvas pretty firmly and needed to be ripped off with a fair amount of effort. The pure white that resulted is my favorite part of the piece. Coating half of the canvas (the entire thing was covered with blood soaked cheesecloth) with charcoal dust also turned out really interesting.
